The CoPaF project aims to develop a cause-and-effect model for coastline change at
the southern Baltic Sea integrating geological conditions and meteorologic/hydrographical
driving forces.
The general aims for the application of the model are:
-the reconstruction of the paleo-geographic development of the southern Baltic coastal
area due to the interplay of neotectonics, eustatic change and coastal morphogenesis
for the last 1000 years,
-the projections to the future (2100 AD) as scenarios of coastline change based
on regional neotectonical and climate modeling.
The results of the project shall contribute to develop concepts for sustainable coastal
protection of the southern Baltic Sea.
